As if living in Hawaii isn't expensive enough already.

Wow. Clean Coal! We got that here in Carbon County! Yay. No more black lung, right?

Are you referring to Carbon County Pa, is that where you’re from?

All my family hails from the Pottsville area.

get outa here bud!
You know the mining industry pulled off the same shenanigans all over the country. Dug holes, sent down poor people, hauled up carbon, and erased the history of all the deaths. Here and there. No, I am in central Utah. The county is actually called Carbon. So’s the high school. Black lung and cancer everywhere.

I was wondering about your ethnicity, T, unless it is a sensitive issue. Yer name sounds definitely Poly and you live in Hawaii. Yes?

Myself, I have a familial and cultural connection to Polynesia. I have tried to learn Tongan. I have collected a lot of Hawaiian and Polynesian songs. Been to Hawaii a few times (Oahu and Hawaii). My father, after WWII was a missionary in Raratonga and wrote a grammar of that language.

But, I may be completely off. After all, you’re from OK.

Just plain old white boy here. I’ve been in Hawaii for about twenty years now, mostly grew up in Oklahoma, born in Minnesota. Air Force brat, traveled around a lot.

My grandfather was a coal miner, but mostly worked above ground. Coal is some nasty shit no doubt, but when I refer to clean coal, like the plant we had here, it’s not as bad as that. Hawaii is a great place for renewable energy, it’s the politicians who have dropped the ball here on getting more of it online.
