4 hours since deletion, they’re still there waiting
Seems to be 24 hours as stated
Although officially it’s supposed to have changed to 3 hours

Someone test it please, it looks like the latest settings tweak works, from my view at least
Seems to work! It works in a weird way, kinda looks like it isn’t working, the post just turns red, but if you refresh the page it’s gone.
