Got a small form factor case from an old leader business PC, so my TV computer will now have a Ryzen 5700x cpu. That should handle the PS3 emulation a lot better than my last attempt at this.
Nvidia 1650 GPU for now, but I’ll be putting a low profile RTX 3050 in it soon.
The 65 watt ryzen CPU has runs just fine, no problems with thermals. The GPU works better than I thought it would, but I’m going to drill around 200 extra holes in the top lid to let that cool better with only the two 80 cm fans, one in the PSU, the other in the case, to extract the heat.
As it stands, GPU under stress runs at 75c with the lid off, and thermal limits at 85 with the lid on, so a more ventilated top lid should solve that.
Got a low profile TV tuner with FM radio on the way too, so one box should handle just about everything for the lounge room.
